Ow an eagle just screamed in my ear when I was blowing my nose. Damn birds! Don't know how an eagle got into our apartment.

I've been sick this week.

Philly Burbs

I was very, very briefly mentioned in an article in a local online news source for being on Soul Joel's radio show, The Comedy Point.

"Joining Soul Joel in the studio will be co-hosts Maddog Mattern and Rich Shultis and special guest Remy Green. Eric Miller will be the producer. "

Somehow I pulled the hamstring, for the first time in my life, in my right leg after lying around all day yesterday. I blame Tourette Syndrome. It really hurts to walk again. So now my left leg, with the two torn ligaments, is actually back to being my "good" leg.

I just filled out the census for Ian and me and maybe you will find this cute, but probably not. Our birthdays are two days apart. Mine is April 2nd and his is March 31st. The Census asked us how old we were on April 1st, 2010, so for the official records of the US government he's 22 and I'm only 21. I never realized how significant an April 2nd birthday would be. April 1st is a commonly used government date.

Baby Steps

You may know that I tore the ACL and meniscus in my left knee in a rugby scrimmage two weekends ago, an exact mirror injury to what happened to my right knee two years before. No more good knee for me! Today I was able to walk around campus without crutches though. I'm literally taking baby steps.

The Comedy Point with Soul Joel

My NCAA bracket finished at the 92.9th percentile on ESPN. It was at the 98.8th percentile before Duke won; way to go, Duke. Because of this though, I'll be the guest co-host, or something like that, on The Comedy Point from 6-8pm on Tuesday. You should listen to my call-in yesterday, if you're interested, here.

Click Show 14, Hour 2, and my portion is from about 34:20 to 47:00. They talk about me for a little while after I hang up, so keep listening for a minute or two. Sorry if I seem douchey. Also the comment about being a Jewish lawyer is a reference to something they were talking about earlier in the show. And I shouldn't have been pacing around my house while I was on the phone! Overall I think it went pretty well and it was a funny conversation. I don't think you'll be disappointed if you listen.

The Recent Apache Video Leak

CNN's coverage of that Apache video leak is shameful, disgusting. If you think CNN is liberal you're oblivious. The one person they have analyzing the video is a spokesman for the military and the sympathetic CNN reporter accepts everything he says and sees the video as an example of when you need to "dig deeper." They also don't seem to give WikiLeaks any credit.

Shameful CNN video

McNabb and the Redskins

I'm reasonably excited about quarterback Donovan McNabb coming to the Redskins. Despite what people are saying, I think he's the best current colored quarterback in the NFL. Wait, sorry, I meant to say he's the best currant-colored quarterback in the NFL.

A Funny Email from My Dad

I had worried about what would happen to your health insurance coverage should you take next year off. As it turns out, under our current policy, you will be covered until you reach age 23, even if you cease to be a full time student. That (turning 23) will occur on April 2, 2011. As it turns out, the new law that requires that you be covered until you turn age 26 becomes effective for our plan on April 1, 2011. So, no gap in coverage. Talk about fortuitous timing!

So my health insurance coverage as a dependent will be expanded by the new health care bill the day before it would have run out.
